November handset sell through improved again as demand grew 4% compared to last year. US, Japan, Latin America and Europe were strong but China still weak. The excess inventory problem eased a bit, but still remains to some extent. This might be a signal to a weak Q1.
Smartphones accounted for more than 63% of the market. Android’s share reached 80% as local smartphone vendors (so-called micro vendors) had a terrific month. iOS achieved a 14% share, while Windows Phone was at just 4% share.
