"Asus is evaluating possibilities to open its R&D center in India to become one of the top three players in India over the next three years. It has recently launched its latest flagship smartphone, Asus 6Z, to enter into the premium segment and compete with players like OnePlus. This highlights that Asus has bigger plans for the Indian market, and it wants to make this region its top priority to grow its smartphones business globally. The brand is already doing well in the India market in the INR 8,000- INR15,000 segment with a focus on design and battery capabilities. Now, this is an attempt to make an entry in the premium segment, but it will be difficult to grab customer attention due to stiff competition from OnePlus. Also, pricing is a little higher for a new model, and Asus needs to do heavy marketing to get market share." – Anshika Jain
