Overview:
The India smartphone market grew 12% YoY as the demand for budget segment smartphones remains high. Online channel shipment grew 17% YoY in July 2020, driven by Xiaomi, Samsung and realme which contributed to more than 75% share. Flipkart regained its top online smartphone channel in July 2020 driven by realme, Xiaomi, Infinix and Poco. Both Amazon and Flipkart recorded growth in July. Flipkart grew faster with 28% growth while Amazon grew by 15%.
Offline market after the re-opening in post Lockdown era reached back to pre-lockdown levels, increasing 9% YoY and 12% MoM. Samsung maintained it’s fresh hold over the #1 spot in the market in July. Samsung has leveraged that tag with aggressive launches in low and mid-tier with aggressive offers.
