"Tesla’s first Chinese plant in Shanghai got hooked up to the State Grid Corporation of China’s power supply for preliminary production. State Grid Corporation said it will eventually increase the power supply eightfold for the factory to run at full capacity. Tesla aims to produce at least 1,000 of its best-selling Model 3 cars a week at the plant, by the end of the year. The plant in China is Tesla’s first overseas plant. China’s electric vehicle market has slowed in the past two months amid economic weakness.
