“Ford will offer its electric vehicle (EV) customers FordPass Charging Network, the largest EV public charging network in the US, with more than 12,000 charging points and more than 35,000 charging plugs. (Tesla has 4,375 public charging stations with about 15,000 plugs in the US, according to the US Department of Energy). Customers will be directed to one of the network’s chargers through an app called FordPass on a mobile device or in each vehicle’s on-screen dashboard. Ford has not released any EV model yet but is now investing US$11.5 billion in EV platforms through 2022. It is also planning to launch the Mustang-inspired electric SUV next year. The upcoming Ford EV users in the US can look forward to a hassle-free charging experience. Therefore, this will be a good catalyst to lure more customers into purchasing Ford EVs, by addressing a big concern for those switching to EVs.” – Liz Lee
