"BMW and Porsche have opened a prototype charging station, with a capacity of 450 kilowatts, claiming to charge enough power to drive 100 km (62 miles) in less than three minutes. The system is co-developed by Siemens, charging specialists Allego and Phoenix Contact E-Mobility. The charger, however, offers more power than any current model can take on. For test vehicles to withstand the surge, Porsche used a cooling system to keep the battery cells and charging cable at a steady temperature. Siemens provided the higher electric voltage energy supply. With a charging capacity more than triple of Tesla’s Superchargers, BMW and Porsche apparently have an edge now over the popular US EV maker." – Vinay Piparsania
