- Global mobile phone shipments reached 455 million units in Q1 2015, up 5% annually. Now 3 out of 4 mobile phones shipped globally are smartphones.

USA market saw a healthy growth growing 23% annually back to the 2011 levels.

China smartphone shipments grew a modest 4% annually but down 12% sequentially depicting the high growth days are coming to an end.

India remained the third largest smartphone market in the world bigger than France+UK+Germany combinedin terms of volumes.

Apple was the star performer as it grew faster than hot brands such as Xiaomi. Samsung saw its smartphone shipments slide 6% annually but recovered from the Q4 2014 dip growing 12% sequentially.
