"The big four Japanese two-wheeler manufacturers are coming together to develop standardized battery technology, as well as charging infrastructure. Undoubtedly, this is to avoid replicating investments. It does make both economic and technological sense for them to share development costs. Practicality is apparently prevailing among auto OEMs, especially in emerging products and services like EVs and mobility as they face real challenges in terms of battery costs, range and customer preferences. Similar alliances have already been established amongst competitive automakers around the world, most significant being Daimler and BMW for mobility services." – Vinay Piparsania
