"LG Innotek developed an automotive communication module based on Qualcomm’s 5G chip. This module combines a communication chip, memory, and RF circuit. It enables the sharing of real-time traffic information, precise location measurement, V2X (Vehicle-to-Everything) and transmission of massive data. In particular, it features a low latency (1ms or less), which is one-tenth of an LTE module. The automotive chip uses new plastic materials that are less sensitive to heat, meaning they don’t deform in the heat generated by the 5G network as well as sunlight on the vehicle roof. The chip can be used regardless of regions or vehicle types because it follows the 3GPP Release, the newest 5G standard."- Angela Cheon
