"Ford Smart Mobility has acquired San Francisco based micro-mobility start-up Spin, which offers electric scooter-sharing services for last-mile transportation. Dockless electric scooter space is gaining traction with automotive OEMs, ride-hailing firms and tech start-ups looking to open new revenue streams in micro-mobility or last-mile connectivity space. Other companies such as Uber, Lyft, Ford and TVS have also invested in e-scooter start-ups recently. The companies see a big opportunity, especially in the US and EU countries, targeting the universities and other large campuses." – Hanish Bhatia
